Regency Oaks maintains both dry bottom detention areas and a basin and since 2007, we have had the responsibility of restoring and stewarding these areas for the Homeowners Association. The owners of the upscale homes enjoy the variety of birds, butterflies and pollinators attracted by the diverse native plant communities.
After the native wildflowers and grasses established, the homeowners’ embraced the colorful, flower-packed natural areas. The site is stewarded (maintained) by selective herbicide, hand-weeding and controlled burns.
The basin is a showpiece at the entrance of the development. Deep-rooted wildflowers help stop erosion on the shoreline, keep the waters clean and provide a habitat for amphibians.
